My Happy Place

” In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ” John Muir

Today is a beautiful day in New England. The dogwoods and lilacs are blooming; the birds are singing. After the seemingly never-ending winter, the sun is shining, and it is finally warm! I stepped out of the house to walk my dog this morning, and inhaled deeply the smell of a beautiful spring day – oh yeah, spring allergies have arrived as well, but that is a small price to pay.

My happy place is outside in the glory of nature, connected deeply to the earth and, at the same time, to divine energy. This world we live in sure is beautiful. As an energetically sensitive person, I feel on a core level the connection to the natural environment. Even as a child, when I stood beside the ocean or in a forest glade, I knew that I was inspired and nourished. I still love to be outside.

I consider my daily walk to be an essential part of my self-care, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This moving meditation centers and grounds me. I am recharged! At times, while walking, I receive messages or signs from my guides. Sometimes, I feel healing energy. I consider this time well spent, a necessary investment in mind, body and spirit. Making the effort to do this for me each day keeps me in the best possible place to do my work. I am very grateful to have this joy in my life.

I encourage everyone to spend time outside. Be aware of the sights, the sounds, and the scents of nature. Notice the animals and the birds. See the insects going about their lives. Feel the warmth of the sun and the breeze in your hair. Really be present in the moment. Be thankful, be humble and let your light shine.
